Since January I’ve wanted to do a styled mock bridal(ish) shoot collaboration with a few models and makeup artists. I had visions of pretty floral crowns and white lacy dresses dancing in my head. So naturally, I put my mother to work. And of course she delivered. Alhough I feel it wasn’t really ‘work’ for her. She made me the most beautiful bouquets and hair pieces that amazingly, look 100% real… I couldn’t have done it without her! Ok, well I could have done it myself but it would’ve come out looking like a preschooler’s craft project with glue hanging off in chunks and random pipe cleaners sticking out in odd directions. Something that would have been “accidentally lost in the flood”.

So I did what I do best and went shopping. I started collecting a few dresses from various thrift stores, vintage boutiques and antique markets down south. It was so much fun to watch it all come to life a few weeks ago.
Nathan Walker let me in on a GORgeous hidden gem of a location earlier in the year when we shot Amanda’s session, so I went back and did some more exploring. The trees were finally blooming and summer was in full effect, so it made for some beautiful electric green backgrounds. I wanted to keep going longgg into the evening, and probably would have, had the mosquitos not been trying to suck us dry or at least suck enough blood out that they could then carry our faint blood-starved bodies back to their mosquito family so they could all feast for days. The mosquitos were bad, yo.
These girls were awesome though, I know they will do well and go far and one day when I see their face on the cover of Vogue I’ll be all like, “yup, uh-huh, I got her discovered.. that was me”. Just kidding- I would never actually say that out loud.
